W|W Creates Branding and Label Design for C.O. Jones Tequila
C.O. Jones's legend began in 1998 when Bob Potter opened Connecticut’s first tequila-centric bar. Subsequent travels to the Old Town District of San Diego introduced Bob to the expansive world of tequila. Upon his return home, Bob began to educate people on tequila by offering samplers, and innovative cocktails, hosting tequila dinners at C.O. Jones, and arranging tours to Mexico to visit different distilleries. As the tequila movement grew, Bob, and business partner Cecilia Shea, became dismayed at the number of brands using unripened Agave with additives such as sweeteners, glycerin, and flavorings for taste while some relied on production methods using sulfuric acid and enzymes.
After sampling over 150 different blanco tequilas, C.O. Jones found the desired flavor profile, one that could only be produced in small batches using traditional methods without additives. The resulting C.O. Jones Blanco Tequila is a pure expression of the Blue Weber Agave spirit. The aromas released when opening the bottle deliver an authentic sensory experience as if you are walking through the distillation room. C.O. Jones Blanco Tequila is vibrant in appearance, soft & delicate in viscosity, coating the palate with sweet cooked agave, fresh citrus, and mint, along with lingering herbaceous and peppery notes.
W|W designed the integrated branding (label & packaging, identity system, narrative, merchandise, website, and more) for C.O. Jones Blanco Tequila, which will initially be distributed in Connecticut and available in August. Limited edition tequilas, including American Oak Reposado and French Oak Reposado, will be available this fall.
