SHANGRI LA HAWAII
MUSEUM OF ISLAMIC ART, CULTURE & DESIGN
Shangri La is a museum promoting the study and understanding of Islamic arts and cultures through exhibitions, guided tours, residencies, and community partnerships. Built in 1937 as the Honolulu home of American heiress and philanthropist Doris Duke, Shangri La is a living environment of Islamic art and architectural decoration.
Over the past few years, Shangri La had undergone a number of significant changes in their visual identity, mission and vision. Future goals for the museum included expanding the museum's cultural impact and empowering communities by representing forms of history, culture and identity that may be marginalized or misrepresented. W|W helped refresh and restructure Shangri La's website to better align with these goals and improve the overall user experience.
A NEXT GENERATION WEBSITE
The new website utilizes a modern JAMstack architecture for improved security, scalability and performance. Through a modular content management system, Shangri La's content authors are empowered to create custom pages while maintaining the brand look and feel.
